This is an example of one of the manholes in Waukesha, Wisconsin needing to be leveled before the plows hit the road. Generally the asphalt sinks (like in these pictures) around the manhole and do not move. This causes a dangerous situation where the plows will catch the manhole and damage either the manhole or the plow. Municipalities may have hundreds of these needing to be repaired each year.
