Before Madison Mudjacking
This is a parking lot in Madison, Wisconsin. The owner of this property noticed a small sinkhole that had formed in his asphalt. He took a closer look at it, and realizing it was more than he wanted to deal with, called Mud Tech.
Mud Tech has encountered this type of problem before. Sometimes when the base material is not compacted properly, or there are high water tables, soft spots can form. In this case it was the former. The base material was compacted, but not enough. Cars are constantly driving over this area, and the weight of an auto can cause some real problems for pavement.
After Madison Mudjacking
Using a combination of Mud Tech's mudjacking equipment, we first pumped a high grade concrete into the void to ensure that it would not settle. After 4 days the concrete was rock hard, and we then used our infrared patch truck to bond a new layer of hot asphalt over this sink hole.
